How to participate in Choral Fest Costa Rica begins with clear information
Every ensemble has its own history, sound, community and reason for traveling. The application process helps Choral Fest understand those details and guide the director before the choir makes a financial commitment.
Completing the initial application begins the review process. It does not automatically confirm participation, reserve a place or create a payment obligation.

Choirs and vocal ensembles from different contexts
The festival welcomes national and international ensembles prepared for a formative, cultural and human choral experience.
Participating choirs must include at least 16 singers. Directors, accompanists, family members, chaperones and other travelers do not count toward this artistic minimum.

The participation process, step by step
The process is designed so your choir can understand the experience, receive a clear proposal and confirm participation only after the relevant information has been reviewed.

Complete the initial application
Share the choir's basic details, director, country, category, estimated size, ages and contact information.
Submit artistic materials
The organization may request recent recordings, a biography, photographs and preliminary repertoire so the ensemble can be reviewed appropriately.
Receive the choir's evaluation and guidance
Complete applications are reviewed in the order received. The director receives guidance on availability, artistic fit and the steps needed to continue.
Complete Step 2 and review the participation proposal
After initial interest and review, the choir provides the detailed artistic and travel information needed for the official participation proposal, package, costs and logistics.
Confirm in writing and submit the deposit
Acceptance is formally confirmed within the indicated timeframe together with the required 30% deposit.
Prepare repertoire, documents and travel
Coordination continues for repertoire, rooms, transportation, arrival details, immigration documents, chaperones and special needs.

What should your choir prepare?
Final programming is coordinated after acceptance. These guidelines help directors prepare appropriately.
Own program
International choirs typically prepare about 30 minutes of repertoire; national ensembles may receive a shorter assignment depending on the program.
Cultural identity
Include at least one work representing your country, culture or musical heritage.
Music connected to peace
Include at least one work related to peace, hope, coexistence, brotherhood, unity or human dignity.
Common songs
Accepted choirs receive the common repertoire and preparation guidance for collective festival moments.
Accompaniment
School performances are presented a cappella. Keyboard availability at other official venues is confirmed only where specifically included.
Sacred venues
Performances in Catholic churches must respect the sacred and solemn character of the venue; repertoire is reviewed in advance.
Participation is more than an entrance fee
The official festival participation package is organized around the confirmed delegation and festival program. It includes:

How your place is confirmed
After acceptance, the choir receives the applicable conditions and payment schedule.
International airfare, travel insurance, passports or immigration documents, personal expenses and services not expressly included in the proposal remain the choir's responsibility.
Pre- or post-festival nights, transportation, tours and other local services can be discussed separately, subject to availability and additional cost.
